Live looping is simple to watch and hard to do well. Dan starts a song by tapping a rhythm on the guitar body and recording it on the loop station. A bassline goes on top, then chords, then a vocal harmony, and by the first chorus one acoustic guitar sounds like a band. Every layer is played in the room, in real time, and can be dropped out or rebuilt as the crowd changes.
That flexibility is why hotels, beach clubs and event planners book a loop artist rather than a duo or a DJ. The same set can run as a stripped-back acoustic performance for a sunset terrace and a full-energy show for a Friday night, with one musician, one soundcheck and a small footprint.
Dan has been looping live since launching his solo career in 2021, after years fronting bands in the UK and Bahrain. The repertoire runs to more than four hundred songs across pop, rock, soul and indie, from The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac to Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Arctic Monkeys.

Questions people ask
What is a loop artist?+
A musician who records short musical phrases live on stage with a loop station and layers them to build a full arrangement in real time. Nothing is pre-recorded.
Is it the same as using backing tracks?+
No. Backing tracks are recorded in advance and played back. Live looping is built from scratch in front of the audience every time, which is why it can change with the room.
Can you play a purely acoustic set?+
Yes. Many bookings are acoustic guitar and voice only, particularly ceremonies, brunches and dinner sets. The loop station comes out when the energy needs to lift.
How many songs do you know?+
More than four hundred, and the list grows most months. Specific requests can be learned in advance for weddings and events.
What do you need from the venue?+
A power socket and a space around two metres by two metres. Dan brings the PA, microphones and lighting for rooms up to a few hundred guests.
